Hi everyone,
Is the title of the thread true that for 2007, the vast majority of the problems with the 6.0 PSD were solved? Has anyone noticed any issues with 07 PSD's? Any insight would be great.

Thank you,
Zack

I think the job 2 06's are the same as the 07's.

I just clicked 55k on mine and have had no issues, no coolant loss, no turbo issues, etc.

Maybe true for some most of them. BUT NOT ME. Picked up my truck May 17th of 2006 and by August 15th in was in for problems. Since then it has seen the service shop 6 other times and still has steering problems.

So far so good.Only 3,000 miles though.I had a 04 I traded which ran like a Scalded Cat /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifThis one is every bit as good and I believe Its even got more in it yet once it gets some real miles on it.

I've had zero issues with my 6.0L. Oh wait, my engine is a 2003.25 MY, not a 2007, never mind...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

07 with 7300 miles now. No problems!! Just really really bad fuel mileage! Not even a sputter! Already had it going up and down the hills in Utah with fully loaded camper and it just kept right on trucking! Love this truck!

Had a few "assembly" problems at first and currently have an issue with it bucking and cutting out while under load. Other than that, no coolant issues or any of the problems I had with my 04. Once the dealer finds the problem...my truck will be perfect!

9716 miles on my 07, no problems at all. 42500 miles on the dreaded 03 Ex, very few problems, 2 egr's and 1 turbo, love both trucks. I like the 6.0 so well I got rid of my 02 7.3 and my 06 Cummins. Knock on wood /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif!

I'd imagine Job 2 trucks would be slightly less problematic than Job 1's...but this isnt always true. My buddy's 03/06 6.0L has 24,000 trouble free miles (with a tuner! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif ) Ohh, and he idles that thing for hours! Still no troubles.

2007 should be the best of the 6.0's, but I have run my 2005 hard for 31k miles without a problem!

Sounds like an isolated issue to me, I think the title meant headgasket issues, steering has nothing to do with the engine. the 03/04 models had those problems but 05-07 models are great trucks out of the box. I would bet the 05-07 models had fewer problems than the other diesels since ford dedicated so much time and effort into perfecting the 6.0. MY 04 is a great truck, once the headgaskets were replaced it has been awesome, no issues, it now has 115,000 miles and is not babied.

My 05 has not been perfect. 8 injectors, 1 Hpop, 2 transmissions, 1 alternator, puking for 90% of it's 60,0000 miles. IT will be going back to ford soon to diagnose coolant loss, (EGR cooler or head gaskets) Love the truck, but hate the fact that it cant drive over 3 months without going back to the dealer. LS
