A good friend on mine runs an o'rielley store and he can get me a kit that will spray the exterior of my intercooler with N2O. this intrests me b/c i have never been a fan of spraying the intake air, bit i like the idea og getting my intage charge cooler.

i have not seen results but i can get a KILLER deal on the kit with a bottle lines and an intercooler ring.
has anyone here used n20 internally or externally? it says it can lessen my intake temperatue by 30 degrees /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

seems to me it would me nice to have on my truck cause i am under warranty and it would lower my egt's right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

It should work. I know the subaru wrx sti's have water injection which spay's cold water over the intercooler and helps drop aircharge down. Won't hurt to try it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Do a web search on DEI and their CryO2 setup -- it uses C02, not N20. Besides CAC spraybars, they also have funky bulb coolers for the inlet tract and refrigerated fuel rails/lines -- which I find of dubious value on anything that isn't already suffering from vapor lock.

I'm not sure on this, just a though, but if the CO2 that is being misted on the intercooler was ingested by the air intake (which is right next to the intercooler) wouldn't that in return lower power. After all CO2 is nonflamable but unlike N2O it doestn't have the avantages if the N sepperating from the O in a benificial way to make power. Like I said I have no idea about how this works I was throughing this out!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If your air intake was downstream of the CAC, CO2 ingestion could be an issue, but it's unlikely to be on most vehicles. The reality is, though, that this is a system that's good for 1/4 mile runs and that's about it. Trying to run it full-time will net you a very empty CO2 (or N2O if you're using nitrous) tank very quickly. If it was me, I'd rig up a couple extra washer fluid reservoirs and a higher-volume pump and spray water on the CAC fins. That's how the Bonneville guys do it with their air-to-air CACs. They also run air-to-ice-water chillers, but that's another kettle o' fish...

The system WORKS. my friend spray's his Supra IC with NO2, and after the dyno pull their is ice falling off the IC. I wouldent worry about CO2 getting injested, unless the inlet is RIGHT next to your IC. you will spray it while accelerating.. or towing. lots of air will be going thru your grill. i doubt much co2 would make it to your intake.

Keep in mind that the ECU has enough sensors to notice that your intercooler is now way more efficient, so it might back down the boost on the turbo.

I spray water on mine in the summer months and it does help, but it I got tired of having a large water tank in the bed.

What about water/meth and running two pumps from one bigger tank. Spray the intake and the intercooler. Even running straight water can't hurt. Anyone have any idea what kinda temps the outside of the intercooler is seeing?? Lata..

On edit... NO2 would be good too. I have seen and heard that spraying it on the intercooler would work well. And if you wanted to run it inside too, I imagine it would clear up that smoke and get you some really good 1/4 times. Clear up the smoke and cool the charge temp, that thing would be /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif BUT, i imagine it's about time for a tranny upgrade with all that power

it was good for another 17 hp back i the cooler months, but now as warmer temps are here it will give more or at least be more noticeable

Something like the concept 05 Lightning with it's AC lines that can cool the Intercooler air. My understanding is they built in a second coil that the intake air goes through and under HARD or full throttle accel the valve shuts off cabin air and lets the intake get the cold charge.

Just a thought.
