Everyday now she is dieing at startup and I have to restart an average of 3 to 6 times before she will stay running. Like someone just shuts the fuel off. If I'm moving at say 20 mph I can feel it cut out (in a big way) and then in half a second it catches again and jerks back to life violently. Once the engine has had a chance to warm up like after 15 minutes then I have no more problems.
Ideas? PCM Pressure regulator? I've already changed the fuel pump recently. Injector harness??
Thanks

I'd bet on the CPS, too. Intermittent and inexplicable stalling is a good sing of a CPS going south. As for the fuel heater, probably not. When a fuel heater element comes loose from the disc (all at bottom of fuel canister) it will short out on the canister and blow the #22 maxifuse under the hood. When that happens it dies and stays dead until you change the fuse (which will blow again if the heater is still shorted.) IOW, if it were the fuel heater you'd not get it restarted at all.

Have a great holiday, y'all.

The guy with the Cowbell....

That is Will Ferrell during a Saturday Night Live skit.
The song by Blue Oyster Cult is called "Don't Fear the Reaper" and has some pretty good cowbell in it. It is a really funny skit, if you haven't seen it yet.

FWIW, I've seen the fuel heater short WITHOUT frying the maxifuse, causing loss of power to the PCM. I had an intermittent stalling issue that disconnecting the fuel heater solved. I'm with you though, probably the CPS..

On Edit, this site shows what happens with the SNL Skit...

I vote CPS, my experience with the fuel heater was so strange, mine had such a mild short,it would not blow the #22 maxi, but got the wiring hot enough that it melted the plug connector in the side of the fuel can. Nice fuel leak for awhile till I figured it out.
Watch ebay if you have time, or find an IH dealer, much cheaper than Ford dealer. Also may try POWERSTROKESHOP.COM Good prices there too!! Good Luck!
