Gonna install a new starter on my '06, 6.0 with118K on the ticker.
While getting 2 new Interstates installed a few weeks back, the installer hooked a power supply to the OBD...said he didn't want the truck to lose any memory.
When I disconnect power to change the starter am I going to put any settings at risk of being lost?
I had an Outback that would take about a day of driving to learn how to idle again after disconnecting the battery for service and just not sure on the PowerStroke.
waddya think?

The only think you're gonna lose is the time on your radio and your preset channels.

I remove battery all the time on my 7.3 to work on it never ad a problem

You may lose some of the drivability programming for the transmission, etc as well, but it will relearn them like your Subaru. This is different from the 7.3.
