hey guys i have a 1999.5 f 350 4x4 i went out to my truck and tryed to start it put the key in turned it and nothing all power comes on but no start jumping the starter does work so i put a new starter in 400 bucks and same prob after new starter was instaled what can it be i have full power not not even a click 4 the starter?????

Batteries. Replace the batteries.

Clarify jumping the starter. Are you talking about hotwiring the starter soleniod, or just simply putting jumper cables on the batteries?

If you're referring to jumping out the solenoid--
You said you could jumper the starter and it would go, but replaced it anyway and still no go. Obviously, that means the starter motor was fine, batteries were fine, and by swapping it, that eliminates the starter solenoid.

Sounds to me like a bad ignition switch.

If you jumped around the starter solenoid, how about the starter relay? It is loccated on passenger side just above the vacuum pump. That was my problem last week. Seems to be a dealer only part.

When the batteries go on these trucks, they'll crank but not start. Sounded to me like that was the issue: crank/no-start.
