Like the title says, I put my dp tuner on and the truck started right up and ran fine. I moved the switch (old round switch) a couple of notches and it ran fine. While I was picking up my trouble light and socket and shutting the hood getting ready for a test drive it quit missed a few times and quit. I tried to start it back and the ses light was on and the water in fuel light was on which has never been on before. I pulled the chip back out and rubbed it some and put it back and it done the same thing except it did not run as long. So I pulled the chip completly and it starts and runs fine. I was afraid to clean anymore on the terminals because this is where the superchip was plugged in at and it worked fine and the terminals were already showing some brass. Sorry for being so long winded but I wanted to give the experts plenty of info so maybe somebody can help me.

I don't know about the round switch since mine is a square box, but could it be in the no start, or anti theft setting?

I have moved the switch through a couple of clicks and it was still the same thing with the quitting. It is supposed to have 60t 80e and a race tune or something.

If your water in fuel light is on, your probably had the wrong programming for your PCM. It happened to me.

Got a new program for mine and almost everything worked fine. Unfortunately, the PCM no longer communicates with my AutoEnginuity now. If you have AutoEnginuity or another scanner, I'd be curious if it still communicates. I have a new PCM on order.

Call Jody and give him the programming code on the outside of your PCM. It will be three letters followed by a number.

What is an autoenguity? Is it like a programmer or something? I guess I will plug my superchip back into the pcm and see if it still works.
The chip I have is used and the pcm code is wore off just enough to where I can't make it out. It did come off of an early 99 model with a six speed which is what mine is so I assumed it would work.

It's a scan tool. Right now I can only communicate with my ABS module. Normally it will pick up all of the engine and transmission operating parameters as well.

I put the superchip back on and everything seems normal again. The code on my pcm is AWA3 but I can't find anything on the chip that is three letters and a number.

The three letter code corresponds to the "catchword". The DP code will be the filename. For AWA3, your PCM part number is likely F81F-12A650-AE or -AF. The filename should be VIAE9GD, but they some other filenames would also work. Jody should be able to tell from the catchword.

Well the guy I bought the chip off of said that his computer code on his truck is the same as mine. I had a guy sauter the wire back on the switch and thought maybe we messed something up there and put the chip on without the switch hooked up and it still flashes the ses light and quits.
I had called Jody before I talked to this guy again and he said he could reflash it for 75 but now I just don't know what to do really.
Anymore advice?

Beaker is right. Water in fuel bowl light staying on is a classic symptom of the wrong programming being put on the chip.

Can you all test it before you reflash it to see what it is?

water in fuel or your tach not working is another symptom of wrong pcm code.
