I'm replacing the bearing in the steering column on a friends 97 F250. The bearings are completely destroyed. Does anyone have any pictures or can anyone tell me the proper way the bearings go back in?

Did you ever get yours repaired? Did you take pictures? I need to do mine but I am contemplating purchasing an entire column for 350 from a junkyard. I would hate to fork out the money though if it is cheaper to repair instead of buying a potentially worn out column from someone else. Thanks

It's only $30 or $40 to buy the bearings and install them yourself. I did mine 3 yrs ago and it was a decent size job. You need the service manual to show how to disassemble and reassemble and take your time and watch closely.

350 is too much for column. Picked one up at a swap meet for 75$. And there's one on Craigslist for 75$ in Massachusetts or Connecticut now. Can't remember which. Much easier and worth it to swap the column. Save the old column for parts. I threw mine out and a week later my old man snapped his shifter lever.
