I just got my 95 F350 a couple of months ago and I'm very happy with it but I was happier with my 02 F350. The only reason I got the 95 F350 instead of a Superduty was because at that time I was going be away from my wife for a long period of time and wanted to leave her with a newer vehicle then her 97 Acura TL. So we sold the Acura and she started driving my 05 Nissan Frontier and I bought the 95 F350 which I needed any ways to tow my 4Runner. Well since the Marine Corps has decided that I'm not needed in Yuma, Az any more and Beaufort, SC is going to be my next duty station my decided that she is going to move to Beaufort with me. So she wants to sell the 05 Frontier and get another old Acura or Honda because of the gas mileage. She'll move then likely have to drive a good ways for a good paying job and I'll only be driving a few miles. She also told me that if I wanted to sell the 95 F350 and get a newer 99-03 Superduty that she wouldn't mind it. This is a good thing because I'll be towing the 4Runner up to Ga, NC, Va, and even to Az, Ut, and Ca (I hope) to go rock crawling. Her timing was really bad on telling my this cause I just order a set of gauges and I bought a used TW chip off of here last week. I know can sell the chip and return the gauges or use on the Superduty. Something I really like about the OBS crewcabs is that you don't see them every where you go. I like the looks of the Superduty, they are intercooled, make more power, 6 speed, have more after market parts, easier to make more power, have more room inside the cab, and get a little more MPG.

So the really reason for the long post,

Should I keep the 95 F350?
Should sell it and get a 99-03 Superduty?

Tough question.

I've owned a couple of super duties and really liked them, but I kept noticing the obs trucks. Sold my 2003 F250 CC (V10), and bought a
97 F250 CC PSD and am slowly 'making it mine' with all the mod's I want.

You've owned both, so you probably already know what you like & don't like about each model.

For me, I prefer the looks of the obs, but the 'comfort' and features of the SD. Sooo... I'm slowly swapping things and adding mod's to get it where I want it.

Of course, you could always keep the 95, save some $$ and buy a SD in a few years. Best of both worlds! One of each! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got a '95 F-350 also. I had a chance to get a new truck as well, but ended up keeping the cash for kids university. I'm glad I kept my OBS truck. Like you said, don't see so many anymore. I also know the truck, inside and out, and find it to be very reliable and trustworthy. I say keep the old one. Good luck.

First things first..THANK YOU for your commitment to keep me, my family, my neighbors and our country safe.

My opinion on the truck, I would keep the '95, avoiding truck payments. Use the money your wife has "authorized" you to spend on the new truck and invest it into the '95. Before you know it, that '95 could run w/ any truck and most cars out there, not to mention, snatch around the crawler like its just that..a toy. Let us know what you do.

They both have their good points and bad but I like my OBS truck . I intercooled it and stepped up the power alittle. I like hearing from folks when getting fuel, I had one of those wished I would of kept it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif I too want to get a super duty one day or maybe an "X" but for now its OBS 4 ever. Crew cab 4x4 short bed for the win!

My close friend is the service/parts manager at Ford. The dealership also owns GM under a different name. Well anyway, I was talking with him about the 6.4.

He told to keep what I have. His exact words "6.0 junk" and "6.4 not proven yet." Keep the 7.3 and you'll be very happy with it.

The EPA has killed the diesel market.

I think that you are looking in the wrong place if you are trying to talk yourself out of an OBS. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything...unless that "anything" didn't have a payment either.

Thanks for the response and more then likely I'll be keeping the OBS. I'm not trying to talk my self out of the OBS, I have my wife trying to talk me out of it. She doesn't like OBS and even worst she willnot drive it cause it's a 5spd and she doesn't feel comfortble driving in trafic. She drove my 02 F350 crewcab all the time. She can drive a stick and she use to daily drive my 96 Cobra in heavy trafic. I just don't having a vehicle that my wife can't safely drive. I'm going to try and get her behind the wheel on the OBS to get her use to driving it.

If I were to get a Superduty I wouldn't have much of a payment and I wouldn't go near the 6.0L. I've known too many people and family that has had lots of trouble out of them, Ford bought my uncle's back for the sale price cause it staying in the shop for close to a year.

Put a automatic in it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif keep the truck use the extra money for parts for the rock crawler and the obs. Also you can keep the chip and have it reprogrammed and also just get a different pod for the gauges. Make sure to get some pictures of the gauges I am thinking about getting a set of the ones in your sig

I like the 5spd and if I were to do a trans swap it'd be for 6spd. I found a really good deal on the gauges/A-Pod pre asy/painted for $268 shipped.
