Been to many years for me to remember but what are the basic steps if only the drivers side head is removed for replacement. What do I have to do and what can I leave intact? I dont have a manuel?

I would pull the intake manifold, and the exhaust on that side. I would also remove the hood, just because it makes it easier. From there it would be just like any other head. Keep in mind, that head is HEAVY. Unless you're built like The Incredible Hulk, you might want to use an engine hoist. I have lifted them off before, but that might have been thirty years ago, and I was 10 feet tall and bulletproof. Now days, I'm only 6 feet tall and semi bulletproof. Going back on with it, use some guide studs to hold it in place. Might help save your new gasket. Be careful of the intake "gasket", it is also the valley pan. I have left it in place, but make sure you don't damage it, or you'll be in for a little more work and expense" to get it replaced
