i have just replaced the cps with the cheap one part no F7TZ-12Ko73-B, checked fuse no 22 and was good. the check engine light is not flashing, anyone got any suggestions? i know it is not cold enough since it is summer and all but shouldn't the glow plugs cycle through or something? the light comes on for one second and then is off. This is my first power stroke that i have ever messed with so any guidence would be appreciated. thanks

What's the pryer symtoms, was it running good before? I'm affraid more info will be needed here.

Is it smoking when you crank it over? You should notice the volt gauge drop when the glow plugs light up then come back when they shut off. Don't know about the wait to start light, mine goes out the same way winter and summer but the GP's stay lit for about two minutes.

Yes the glow plugs will cycle. How long the wait to start light stays on is a function of temperature. The glow plugs stay on for a bit even after the engine is running. You can tell by looking at your volt meter for your battery. It pulls way down when the GP's are energized.
