Getting down to crunch time, really starting to need a new clutch. Wondering if anyone knows if I put a stock clutch back in, will it still make that annoying growl noise?

The growl comes from the gears, not the clutch. No clutch will eliminate it. GM had ZF cut the gears differently when they put the ZF-6 behind a Duramax, eliminating (or minimizing) the growl.

I did not know that!

But you're right about the fact that no clutch will eliminate it. Some styles will actually make it worse if they have less damping in the disk. You ought to hear mine when I'm idling thru a parking lot. :disgust:

Ok thanks for the replies. I may very well end up putting a stock one back in it then, the first one has lasted 209,000.

Consider yourself a very lucky man. I have some Ford clutch plates with broken center sections and broken disk spring retainers. And an obs with a destroyed dual mass flywheel.
I'd say you got some good life out of that clutch.
