Stranded w/ my '05

I had the brilliant idea of taking my '05 PSD CC SB on a 2000+ mile (each way) road trip. I was 300 miles away from returning home after 1900 miles and three days of driving w/ my wife and 7 mo. old daughter when the unthinkable happened.

I had the cruise control set at about 75mph (the speed limit) when all of a sudden I lost all power for about 3 seconds. Then the engine died completely. I was on an interstate 100+ miles from the nearest town in a very hot region. There was an off-ramp right where it died (luckily) that I was able to coast to the end of. I tried to start the engine with no success. It cranked fine but would not start. I called the emergency roadside assistance line and 2 1/2 hours later a tow truck came to pick us up.

We were dropped off by the tow truck at a hotel 120 miles away and my truck taken to the local Ford dealer last night. They have had the truck all day today and cannot figure out what the issue is. I'm very frustrated because I need to get home with my family and get back to my job.

I've had the truck in for service twice for a supposedly leaking oil pressure regulator valve. I just had it replaced before my return trip (1900 miles ago) and it appears to be leaking from the same place once again. I don't know if this is related to my current problem.

This is becoming a very expensive problem for me (hotel, food, lost days on the job) and I'm not sure what to do.

Anyone have any ideas or had a similar experience? Will Ford offer any help?

Thanks for reading.

Sorry to here of your dilema. Ford had traveler's assitance available if the truck is held overnight more than 100 miles from your residence. I used this program in Missouri(600+ miles from home)for a two day parts availablity delay and the dealer handled the paperwork. It only applies to overnight accomodations no loss of income etc.
