The past two mornings when it has been cold...we're talking 8 degrees one day, and then the mid 20's the next. Well, when I fire my truck up, everthing is normal, let the truck warm up, but when I go to take off (with my trailer hooked up..hasnt done it empty) it acts like there's something choking it off, and wont go over 1300-1400rpm...it will kind of studder in fact. Now, the weird thing about it is, I can stop the truck..put it back in park, wait a second then put it back in gear and it goes as normal...any ideas what the problem could be? Something to do with cold temperature warm up? I never take the truck over 1600rpm or so when its cold and im just starting out, but getting that big trailer moving works it a little more. No funny tranny or engine noises, so Im kinda stuck here..anybody able to help a guy out?

Thanks In Advance,
Jason

It could be the exhaust back pressure valve hanging up a little bit. When it does this it's hard for the motor to rev much. When you stop and put it in park it might give it time enough to kick the valve open. The back pressure valve seems to get sooted up and sticky once in awhile.
