How can I get that boot off its the one right on the turbo on the driver side. I tried to get it off but its a SOB as its not budging. Is it ok to spray some WD 40 to loosen things up?

thanks,
Andrew

Is it the broken one. If it is just use a knife. If not slide a small screwdriver between the boot and the metal, carefully. Wiggle it around and it will come right off.

its the one that connects to the hot side IC pipe

I need to take a picture of it because according to Bob I am the first one to have torn it.

windex and a flat bladed screwdriver. spray the windex underneath the boot on the backside as not to get it in your turbo snout, then wedge the screwdriver in and twist the screwdriver back and forth while pulling on the boot.

just lube up your screwdriver and stick it between the boot and work it all the way around and it should come off easy then.

Just make sure that you clean up the Y-Pipe real good when you done. As you don't want to leave any of the lubricant behind. Bigr's idea using windex sounds good as it should evaporate for the most part.

Is it already torn, if so just cut it off with a razor knife.

I wonder how many worthless pages this thread will turn into until Andrew figures out how to get a simple boot off the charge pipe? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I know what needs to be done but boot is a SOB to get off and I have to take a pic to show to Bob Riley so I need to be careful not to ruin it.

thanks for your sarcasm danny /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
