I have this annoying problem with my climate control. Despite whatever setting the turn knob is at, air only blows through the defrost vents onto the windshield. When I switch it to AC, the AC turns on and works fine, but none of the air comes out except on my windshield, often causing it to frost up since it's so warm and humid outside. Is there anything I can do?

Use the search button and you will find tons on this. I personally have replied to at least three of these in the last week. This is telling you that you have a vacume problem. If you have a 4x4 look on the back of the hubs, this is where the line will usually crack, simply cutt off an inch and re apply to the back of the hub. If that looks good follow the vacume lines back up to the pump, if all those look ok it could be the pump itself, you should hear it prime itself when you turn the key on, it is on the pass side fender.

The vacuum hubs do not receive a constant vacuum signal. A leak here will have the affect of sending the heater to defrost mode only for the 30 seconds or so after the truck is shifted into (and maybe out of) 4WD. Most common concern is a bad vacuum pump but the lines to and from the reservoir and up under the dash should be visually inspected and/or checked with another vacuum source...

Common cause is your sweetheart - or a kid - stuck her foot up under the dash and knocked off a vacuum hose. So look up under the dash near the passenger's footwell and see if any loose vacuum lines are flopping around. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
