I know this sounds off the wall but how long since your last oil change? Had a friend experience this same intermittent problem and it went away with an oil change. The oil does fire the injectors and no it wont run out of oil in the HPOP until the rest of the motor is also out of oil. Just trying to help.

NO,

P1316 is an injector/IDM circuit related code only.

Did you ever pull the other VC off to check the other connector? When I got the P1316 only I connector was loose, but I took both VC's off and added the UVC wiring harness clips to both passenger and drivers side.

The reason I asked was because a friend spent about 4 weeks fighting one doing this intermittent loss of power and shutting off. He tried everything that the shop foreman at the Ford dealer told him it could be until one day the Ford guy asked if it was running Rotella oil and did it have over 2,000 miles on it. The answer was yes to both. The Ford guy said put an anti foaming additive in it or change the oil. Well he changed the oil and all is well.

Now I have posted this story before and like most others on here I find it a hard story to believe. But I saw the truck act up and I saw the truck run flawlessly after the oil change. I did not ask him what kind of oil he used. I personally run Rotella as do a lot of other people on here. But you can bet that if my truck ever starts this I will change the oil first. If it needs doing it is the cheapest thing to do.

Not bashing Rotella here just relating an experience that happened to involve Rotella. Like I said I run it in my truck and will continue to do so.
