I have a 2001 F350 7.3 with the Volant closed box filter, DDP injectors, MBRP 4"exhaust, and a Bullydog programmer. When I'm pulling our rv (13k#) and have to get on it up a hill it makes a sucking noise, egt goes up, and boost goes down. Any ideas?

Are you hearing turbo surge?

Do a search on YouTube.

Also, what type of DDP injectors did you buy.
Specifically what cc and nozzle size

Like 160/0 or 160/80?

Unless you got your bullydog retuned they won't work well

DDPs website says they're similar to a 140cc with 25% nozzles. I haven't had any turbo surging. I'll have to look into the Bulldog issue. Thanks

The smallest aftermarket nozzle is a 30%.

They are probably stock AD's with a 30% nozzle slapped on.

Unless you had the bullydog retuned for the nozzle change it's not making much of a difference.

Post a video of what you hear. I'm not quite sure on the noise.

It's not the fan clutch engaging is it?

It also could be the ebpv closing for some reason. What does boost drop too?

Have you done a boost leak test

I would highly suggest that you get something better than the bullydog. This unit is terrible for your truck

Yes. Off the shelf tunes do not work very well, especially with larger than stock injectors.

To the OP... You may be hearing a boost leak. It is pretty normal to hear the air whoosh through the intake, especially after a shift. However, if your boost is dropping and EGT's go up when you hear this noise, it is probably a boost leak.

Turbo surge sounds like a very fast chirping noise. As stated, you can find examples of this on YouTube.

I had a Bullydog on my truck, sent it back because it died. Reinstalled it, but too much black smoke. It's resting in the top of my tool box. I run a Banks six gun stacked on a Big Hoss tuner from Banks as well. It works great and it will change tunes on the fly.

You need a chip with custom tune. Way better engine and trans tuning
