Not sure why but one week ago I suddenly started being able to billow smoke on demand. Never could do that before. The power was exactly the same though. Boost was the same.

Got any ideas as to why I would suddenly have more black smoke?

PS It happens higher rpms w/ no load and at full throttle with heavy loads. Thanks.

Gas station could have changed fuel blends - winter to summer, possibly, although I would suspect they would already have done this. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

I'm gonna go with this one. It had to be 95 today and I was leaving the guys behind me in CLOUDS. I usually only leave a small trail you can hardly see, I have a turndown right behind the axle. Also, If you are using A\C, and you have an open element filter, the extra heat you pull from the condensor eqauls much higher charge air temps from under the hood, thus more smoke.

I think you guys got the answer. It was hotter on that first pull when I noticed the increase in smoke, I had the a/c on, and the air filter is from last year.
Thanks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PS The fuel may be an issue also, I rarely see #1 around here and may not have notice when I filled up at the truck stop.
