I have a Cortex Programmer for my 03 F350 and its a great addition to my truck when I can get it to work. It always errors out when I uninstall one program to switch to the next. Am still trying to get Superchips to diagnose the problem but they arent any help so far. I bought mine off the internet on ebay which was a mistake because they will not warranty any product bought off the internet so be careful. I suggest either purchasing it from Superchips themselves or from a reputable dealer. They have a list on the Superchips web site. I love my Cortex when it is working. It has definetly helped my truck in the power and performance department.

Talk to Jody at DP-Tuner and he will set you up. Ask yourself which suit fits better.

1. A suit based on your age and sex (Superchips, Hyperjunk, etc, etc)
2. A suit based on your your input to the tailor (dp-tuner)
3. A suit based on measurements your tailor makes of you (dp-tuner live tuning)

When you get your Dp-Tuner, you will wonder why you even found yourself liking the Superchips. If you paid good money for it, you would even kick yourself.

I did it differently. I tried somebody's truck that had it. Then I bought a $75 PCM flash from Jody. IF I didn't like it, I could have it flashed back to stock for $10 from my friendly Ford tech after hours. Needless to say, I bought the F5 after a while.

I have a superchip 1805 in mine. I like it, it adds a lot more power and a few mpg's, buty Im in the process of selling it for a dp tuner. I heard great things from many about the DP tuner. I would go with DP, especially if you are looking at buying a brand new superchip. Ive been told that a dp tuner on 80 econo will run all over a superchip thats on 100.

Superchips is a good little programer, but once you buy it, you will want more and end up with some kind of chip anyway. Get a DP chip...

I got my Superchips tuner from Ford Performance Specalities out of GA and it come with a regular tune, a tow tune, a tow-performance tune, and an all out performance tune. I have been extremely happy with mine!

BUT everyone is going to recommend what they use because they think its the best so get a lot of input before you dive in.

I really appreciate all the input I'm getting, and I think that I'll look into the DP tuner.
Good for you. I have read of too many people that bought into the Superchips or Hyperjunk stuff and found that they liked a more custom tune better. As I believe, it is cheaper to do it right the first time. Also, the more custom the tune, the better.

Superchips gets your money and leaves you high n dry. I had there 1705 and had several problems with it in tow safe. I sent it back to them twice, both times they told me they completely went through it. Both times same problem and truck pcm reconized the tuner like it was never "rebuilt" they would not tell me any information as to if it was working correct or not. I could only get 16 psi in towsafe but stock i could get 23? I got rid of it and i am getting a dp f-6 tuner from Jody. Save your money and get one of the best the first time!

I havent used the dp so i cant say its better or worse, but i will say i'm happy with my scmt 1705. i use it on the 80 hp setting rather the the extreme (120hp i think) and end up with 19+ mpg (hand calculated) at 70mph with what seems plenty of power. maybe see if you can get your hands on both and see if you like one better than the other.
the custom tune seems pretty cool though.
