First off, I would like to say that i'm new here. I have been reading the site for the past 3-4 months.

We are planning on getting the Superchips tuner for our '04 6.0 in the next 1-2 months. We already have a A-R-E(i beleive that is the brand) air intake system on order for it @ our local Diesel performance shop. My question is will the truck puke coolant when pulling 14K+ @ 70-80mph? If you need any more info just let me know!
And for the record, Our 6.0 has had no problems but for a wiring harness. Love the truck & would buy another 6.0 in a heartbeat!

My truck never puked until I started adding chips and tuners, as in the edge and sct. If it were me I would go for a modest Hp upgrade maybe something like 45 or 60 extra hp's and keep the original air filter system /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif don't stretch the head bolts and you won't have a problem... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You'll probably be fine. The only case where you will have a problem is if you pound it pulling that load up a long steep hill. Just take it easy on hills and watch your boost. Puking generally occurs at higher boost, so if you keep it below 20 psi sustained, you should be fine. 30-35 psi sustained is where you start seeing problems.

By the way, it is AFE, not ARE.

You may want to consider 2 more items: a pipe and a pyro. The pipe will let it breath better and should lower EGT's a bit. The pyro will let you monitor the EGT's. Pulling heavy will make your truck run hot and you want to know when it is getting to the critical point so you can back off. Normally it is not a problem, but a long steep hill might be.

Thanks for the help guys! Thank's for the correction on the name also. I forgot to mention that we are having a pyro installed when we get the tuner. It won't get set on the max HP setting except for a few times when the need for speed comes up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Also does anyone know were to get a performance muffler with 3.5 inlet & outlet? Trying to get dad to straight pipe it but he's not wanting to do it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Thanks again!

RL,
I Noticed when I'd get it into OD and Just Cruise it would Really Load the Motor and cause the Puking! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gifThe Load, being Hill,Weight,or Gear causes the Build up and lifting of the Heads on the Stud! It's Very Hard to Do and get a Gases Reading in Your Tank but it will if you Beat it hard enough! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gifI'm Talking Edge on 5/5 with 100% Methanol Injection, and some Pretty Agressive Driving! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gifThrow a Big Trailer 10k Plus and I can't even think about Meth and No Higher then 3/5! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
