Tachometer Switch

Ok... I need a switch that will activate at a certain RPM. I don't care if it is NC or NO; I'll make it work. My application is for an exhaust brake. I would like it to cut out below 1000 RPM. (see truck details is sig)

I have seen tachs with shift lights, which might work, but what I don't need is another gauge; I have enough cluttering my dash as it is.

Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Karl

Ok, I found a tach switch, but I am not sure if it will work.

Click here-> Murphy Instrumentation

The specs are:
• Minimum Input Voltage Signal: 4.5 Vrms.
• Maximum Input Voltage Signal: 50 Vrms.
Frequency range in Hz:
25-2000 or 625-9000

Does anyone know the specs for the tach on the 7.3? I'll hunt them down if someone can point me in the right direction.

Never heard of that... I've had mine installed since the truck was new and never had a moments trouble. It does tend to want to jump from overdrive to direct on hard deceleration in 2nd (using L-1-2-3-4-OD gear nomenclature), so I have learned not to use the exhaust brake in 2nd/OD. Other than that little quirk, the two perform flawlessly together.
