99PSD AT 160K. When the truck is cold (am) and I put it in reverse It wants to take off and dies. If I tap the brake as its backing up it stays running and off I go. Any ideas?

TC locking up when it shouldnt???? Sounds like that has to be it. When you tap the brake pedal it sends the signal to unlock it.

Check the trans fluid level. Low fluid can do this.

There was a TSB regarding something similar (though I think the temps were more in line with winter time)... can't remember what years. The TSB recommended a switch to synthetic Mercon.
