[/ QUOTE ] is that supposed to be tongue in cheek?

Don't get caught, and if you're driving around with a tank/pump in the back, the tax police will dip you in a hurry.

Figure 400 - 600 for tank / pump combo.

You are describing a "refueling" tank. Intended for refueling farm or construction equipment - but can also be used to refuel the pickup's stock fuel tank.

You can go cheap for a few hundred bucks. To do it "right" requires a TransferFlow.

Note that the high-quality 12-volt pump alone is more than $300. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

its my understanding they can only dip your MAIN tank/filler neck.
just because you have a tank in the bed doesnt mean your running
or using off road diesel IN the truck.

i suspect if you had LINES running from the aux tank to the main
truck tank you would have issues w/ the tax cops...and the main
tank fuel would be colored at that point anyway.

A friend of mine was running the red stuff in his truck for a while. It caused some problems. They claim it is the same, but the die changes it, and strokes do not like the change at all.

Many times the "Off-Road" or red diesel is the same as the "normal" or green diesel. They simply dye it differently when loading it.

Other times, it is a poorer grade of diesel and will cause issues.

How do you tell? Ask the owner of the station or try it yourself. Note that a the red dye is pervasive and will be in your main tank for awhile. If you get caught, it ain't cheap.
