Greetings,

I made the mistake last weekend of sending my wife to Home Cheapo for some roofing materials. She managed to get the wood and shingles in the back of the truck, but didn't want the tar paper roll to roll around so she put it in the back seat. I now have two or three marks on the leather seats (gray). The only thing I tried so far was a little spit on a clean rag and some elbow grease. No dice. Is Lexol still the preferred cleaner for a stain of this type. If so, where can I get it.
Thanks.

Try using some baby oil on a paper towel or clean rag. I use baby oil when we go to the beach and get the beach tar all over our feet. Cleans it right off.
Or, if you don't have baby oil, you can try using some Vaseline. But baby oil would be my first choice.

I have used fast orange hand cleaner on leather before and no problems. Remove the tar mark as quick as you can. Then a damp rag over the area and you should be finish.

I have just the product. Endust furniture polish. I worked in a DOT lab testing Asphalt and that is what we used to clean everything. Another little hint, Endust has triclorothane111 (check my spelling)
that cuts tar from roads and trees just like budda. Your local gunsmith might have some as it is used in the gun blueing process. Hope this helps.
