I wouldn't recommend doing *just* a PI torque converter(BTS us PI) on a stock tranny. The initial torque multiplication can really put a stock tranny through the wringer.

I have seen them, but not prices as of yet. How much hp are they rated for?

I got the single disk,billet front for $600.00 from summit rac.They also have a triple disk for $800.00, but it wasn't in stock. I'm kinda in a hurry.Summit either has really good prices or they gave me the wrong price, the stock replacement TCI w/lower stall was priced higher than the one I ordered!

The TCI is in there.Stall speed is still higher than I would like,but the truck does get going better from a stop.Install went real well,knocked it out in about 3 hrs.

FYI,according to TCI their single disk is good for 800ft.lbs & the triple is good for 1400.

Also,I don't buy that story about a PI T/C or a triple disk causing damage to a stock trans.At least not w/a mostly stock motor in front of it.Just my opinion though.

Other factors play a role in how well that single disc will hold, gearing seems to be the biggest one. The converter such as the PI do have better torque multiplication, the tranny only knows how hard the input shaft is turned, be it more fuel or a higher multiplication factor. The addded multiplication is what will kill a stock tranny over time, just as a chip and a lead foot. How loose is that converter?

After driving it for awhile I gotta say I'm NOT happy w/it.Stall speed is about the same as stock.When I jump on it from a stop it flashes to about 2200 and goes up from there as the truck goes faster.It seems to me a flash to about 13-1400 would be alot better.That high flash is only gonna get worse w/some stage Is & a hotter chip.Got a friend w/a BTS and a PI,need to take it for a spin to compare.

Brian I dont even think my stock converter flashes that high.

Go check that thing out and let us know what it flashes to on a full throttle. I'd love to know how that converter is holding up to your foot and injectors. If the stall speed seems low Im betting you tach just cant keep up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
