Once i figure out my transmission problem i was wanting to mod my 91 7.3

The thing is that it has 337 000 km on it.

I was thinking of 4in exhuast true duals, turn the ejection pump up. cold air intake. inline aftermarket lift pump. then maybe propane injection.

what are some tests i should do to understand the condition of my engine so i will know it can handle the power i want it to make?

You can always do compression and leak-down tests, actually for such high mileage those are really good idea. Pressurize the cooling system for leaks, also test the coolant for SCAs. Send a sample of your used engine oil to Blackstone Labs for analysis, if you can afford it.

As for your plans - good luck with the 4" true duals, your front tank is in the way of the driver-side piping. Oh yah, tis injection pump, not ejection pump ;)
