Has anyone had problems replacing a TPS with the part number F5TF9F832? I was told it was discontinued. So what is the right replacement? Went with the Dorman 699-200 but my truck seems to eat aftermarket parts. This part did not last long. Is there a store that has the actual OEM part?

Where did you get that (partial) PN? The Ford parts site seems to indicate your truck would take a MotorCraft CX-1448, which can be had on eBay right now for ~$40 (also used on '87-90 Escort 1.9L).

Use the L-side menu to pull out Emission Control -> Sensors, and scroll down to TPS.

Dorman is the only one available, iirc.

Steve the powerstroke is drive by wire, he needs the electronic pedal assembly. Then one you posted is what you would find on the side of a throttle body.

I also come up with part number F4SZ-9B989-AA in my listings if the first number is incorrect. There was possibly a change at some point but I cant tell you what the production date is if it did.

Steve83- the part number came off of the part (TPS) I took off the pedal. Which is also stamped 'Ford' , 'PBT G30' , 'CTS' , 'BA 5K04A'

F2TZ-9B989-C ..... Does anyone have a photo of this part? Cant seem to find one to know if it is exact. Alot of what I come up with is a unit with a vertical connection that my harness will not plug into.

:icon_rolleyes: Yep - that looks like a TPS that would be on an Escort 1.9L throttle body, AND it's the PN for the '96 7.3L APP. Right?

...he needs the electronic pedal assembly.

Do you have a PN &/or image for that? But he said...

Went with the Dorman 699-200...

...which is just a sensor like the CX1448, so he apparently just needs the sensor, unless you're saying some problem in his pedal assembly is damaging the replacement sensors.

The number stamped on the part is actually an engineering number, not a part number however the engineering number can be crossed over by a Ford parts department.

Unfortunately this is the case sometimes. The guy is correct, the part is obsolete meaning Ford no longer produces or supplies the part. But, there are still a bunch out there for sale if you just search for one. Knowing the correct number does help and two of us confirm the number you need. You just gotta know where to look.

F2TZ-9B989-C is not the correct part. F4SZ-9B989-AA pulls up nothing but for gas engines not diesels---does it make a difference??

The two part numbers - F2TZ-9B989-C & F4SZ-9B989-AA - Are different parts...it might say the first fits but the harness doesnt work with it... the second is a direct replica but if I state 'diesel' it tells me that the part is not compatible.
