I have been trying for months to figure out what was lose or broken underneath that made it sound like someone was banging on the floor under the front seats every time I hit even the smallest bump in the road.
CLUE: the noise was MUCH more noticeable when towing.
I was under the truck a number of times looking at the shock mounts, the drag link and other suspension parts, exhaust system, skid plates and anything else I could get my hands on, all were tight.
Finally noticed (durring the last oil change) the rubber busings (2) on the bigass sway bar behind the front axle were fotball shaped instead of round. Parts were $15 each, and floor banging is a thing of the past.
Just wanted to add this to the "things that go bump under your truck" file, for anyone else that's still looking!
