I don't get it...I only get maybe 4 years and 35-40K out of them. I just put new ones on again...MOOG.
They were free (lifetime) except my labor and agravation!
F'ers had all kind of play in them...and I grease every 1,500 miles. Yes the other steering components are tight...EVERYTHING was new in 02.

PS maybe the 255/85R16 tires chew them up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

hamer--did you put antisieze on the new tie rod ends threads--makes for coming apart in the future much easier---

No "lift kit"...I like stock, and yes always antisieze /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Ya know for sometime sometimes I would hear a knock when turning the wheel...well I thought it may have been the left side OE ball joint. Nope no movement that way...solid as a rock.
AGAIN, the Moog Tie-Rod ends were...TOAST /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bleh.gif

I just measured from the sleeve to the center of the grease fitting...and spun them back on. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Moog probably sends the old one's over to China for rebuilding /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Yep, my tie rod ends are a year old and already one has failed. I drive some pretty bumpy mountain logging roads in mine but 1 year is rediculous. I also had a ball joint fail in under a year. I think these crap aftermarket parts must be designed for the owner who is replacing his vehicle every year or two.

Ray, ever try Motorcraft ones just to see if maybe they last longer? Do you have a steering stabalizer on your truck? If not, get one or maybe replace the existing one.

Actually the OE ones lasted the longest. The MOOG's seem to die fast but so far they have been free replacement.
I may look into a stabalizer...if that would help.
PS. back in 02 I also replace the 2 longer steering rods (what ever their called)...not cheep$$$ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif also now MOOG but seem to be ok thus far.
OE pieces lasted a loooooong time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
