well dad told me today to take my truck in to see what i could get for it on trade in on a new:

2006 Wedgewood blue w/arizona beige 2-tone
Lariat, FX4, C/C, SWB, moonroof, etc, etc.
loaded to the hill!!

After I got off the phone with the salesman (my buddy), he said he can put me in a brand new truck (one described) 300 a month for 3 years with my truck trade in!!!!

I AM THINKING about doing this, but not sure because dad said if i do, i cannot do ANYTHING to the truck, must STAY factory!!

Your input?

When was the last time you heard of a deal that good? Someone who loves you and is willing to help you pay for an expensive new truck in exchange for not killing yourself- and not destroying a new truck and digging yourself a financial hole by not modifying it. Jump on that deal and learn what it means to "tool around." It's the deal of a lifetime.

When I was 15 in 1973, I asked my dad to loan me $1,500 for a 1969 El Camino with a 427 L-89 aluminum head Corvette engine in it~ 600 hp. He said, "over my dead body because you will end up dead." He was right, and so is your dad. Show him the honor and respect he deserves for having that wisdom.

sorry, this thread is already on the wrong foot.

Thanks, but I work 2pm-1am every day JUST so i can afford toys!!

DAD ONLY HAS WORDS, NO MONEY INVOLVED!

Touchy, touchy.

I'd keep the truck stock, at least darn near close to it. I dumped a ton of money in my 99. Now the truck is 7 years old and even all the aftermarket is not worth it. My excursion is pretty well stock, and it'll stay that way. I've learned my lesson on the 99.

Listen to your dad, there is many more places money can goto besides junk that really isn't necessary, retirement for example.

Anyways, take the deal that's good. Hell that's great!

im taking mine to the shop one last time (i hope) on thursday to have injectors replaced. if they can fix the surging problem, i will keep, but dad says must sell if surging continues.

Great looking truck, but why buy now? wait another year or so for the new 6.4L. Although that is a very good deal on the '06.

And you are trading in a 2003?? And you are getting the 'deal' for a NEW 2006 for 300 a month???

What am i missing here?? Either your buddy will soon be out of the salesman position at that dealership or you have a 35,000 dollar 2003 superduty....

I havent looked at prices for used ones, but that seems aweful high, especially for a trade in.

Hell, the most I could get for my 2005 KR F350 in trade was 33K. I didnt trade. $10,800 including interest does seem to good to be true. They would have to be giving minimum 30-31k for the 2003 trade, which with mods is worth less in my opinion. 2003's just arent bringing that in trade right now.

I'm only an hour from Austin, I'll drive that far and maybe get 38k for my 05 KR in trade...Sweet!!

this whole thing makes zero sense.

If your dad has no monetary interest in either of the vehicles then why the hell is is telling you what to do? Why would your current truck "have to go"?
I'd also like to know how I can get the sweet "buddy deal" maybe I can MAKE money on my '06.

That deal sounds about right. I traded my 03 for an 06 last month. My new KING RANCH list for 51,500, and my 03 list for 46,970, I gave 10,500 to trade with all rebates. 2500 owner loyalty, + 2500, + 500 ford finance, + 300 commercial. The 03 had 32,500 miles on it and was in great condition. see sig. below.

46,970 for 03 King Ranch. Are you saying the sticker price was 46,970 or that's the current price? Trade value for that truck on Kelley Blue Book is around 27,000. As far as ChaseNO3PSD everything you've said tells us your dad pays for this truck. I'm not a hater I just call it how I see it. Though I’ve been wrong before... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Sound like you buddy got some pull. tell him to get the service guys to fix your 03. it's still under warrenty. as far as daddy goes, tell him to put your bib on. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif na just kidding. i've heard of these rebates. sound like fords way of selling record# of 2006's and getting the troubled 03 & 04's off the road. cut there losses and still make a profit $$$. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif
