As the title says, I am tired of having to wear ear defenders in the hot summer sun while riding my Sears mower, or using my Stihl blower and trimmer - are there not better mufflers for these little engines available? If my 300 hp car engine can idle near silence, why not these little engines? I give a flying f*** about gas usage or power, I am not clearing the Amazon here, just trimming grass - anyone?
Edit: Some source material people referred to says that these little engines do not even have mufflers, just spark arrestors, so they are basically unmuffled. There must be a better solution out there, esp given the constant complaints about the sound of backpack blowers every Saturday morning.
