Driving home from the kids hockey game in the Excursion and it felt like it was slipping after pulling out. Kind of like slipping a clutch in a mannual. Did it at a few red lights. Jump up on the highway and it does not want to shift to OD. Ran it up to about 2800 RPM and backed out of it a few times and it finally shifted. I drove 30 miles and when I got of the highway it shifted O.K. This morning it seemed OK as well. The X is basically stock with 123K on it. Routinely serviced by previous owner but the tranny fluid is a little dark. Planning a flush and filter change ASAP. Is this the sign of a TQ letting go or clutches in the tranny?

This could be a little bit of both your TC and clutches. I expierienced the same problems, but soon learned the hard way that it was both clutches and the TC. I suggest that you don't make my same mistake. I gave BTS a call and got a brand new transmission in 2 days. It has proven to be the best mod I have ever done to my truck period. Get a BTS, you won't be dissappointed and she'll last forever. Just my .02 cents.
