I have a '03 F250 with 128k miles. When starting in the morning the tow haul light on the shift lever flashes on and off continuously. After stopping and restarting a warm engine, the light no longer flashes and goes into tow haul mode normally.
Anyone have an idea of what could be the cause.
When the light is flasing the transmission will not go into tow haul.

The flashing light means the tranny has seen something it did not like from a sensor....... I'd get it looked at to see what the problem is.........

Mechanic did find the sensor above the differential to be faulty. It was reading that the vehicle was traveling at 3 mph when standing still. But when I picked up truck and drove away the light is still flashing. The tranny will shift into tow haul when the button is pressed. But the light still flashes. The mechanic suggested that I drive it for a day to see if the computer adjusts itself. He said he cleared all codes.

Any suggestions??????

If he actually fixed the problem and cleared the codes, the light should not be flashing........

When the truck is started the light is not flashing. But if I press the Tow Haul button it goes into tow haul and out if I press button again. But then light flashes on and off until I stop and re start the engine.

If I disconnect batteries which I assume will reset the computer, should that maybe clear any and all codes which may be causing this?

On My 2004 My Trans Temp Shoots All The Way Up And Back Down To Norm. The Check Gauge Light Comes On And The Tow Haul Light Flashes Also. Then It Goes Away. The Dealer Said There Were No Codes Or Issues. He Said It Was In The Cluster. Has Anyone Else Had This Issue?
