I have had my truck over a year now, and all my lights/breaks used to work fine on my trailers. Now I have no power at the plug for the running lights and the elec breaks are acting funny. (the light is green when pluged in, when you step on the break it goes to yellow, to black immidatly) I am thinking a rusted ground wire, somewhere along the T connector, but I cant seam to find a ground wheres the closest one? I had a rats nest on the trailer junction box, I am in the process of remiddying that also, but I do have another trailer to check it against. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Hey WildmanFab

Standing behind your rear bumper and looking into the connector on the truck:

Top left is the power to your running lights.
Bottom left is your ground connection.

Hope that helps!

God Bless,

Yep, I got that one figured out (its marked on my cover) I connect those with my test light (and the trucks lights on) and I get nothing.

Could there be a blown fuse somewhere besides the main block? (I checked all those)

Also anybody know of any good wiring diragrams for a trailer with a break-away system? I think somebody hacked the turn singnal in with the breaks because the break controler light blinks with the directional...

Check your fuse box under the hood. I had this same problem and it was the fuse in that box. I am sorry but I do not remember the number of the fuse. Double check the fuse as I looked it over several time and never did see the break until about the fith time.

Under the rear of the bed there will be a couple connectors that will cause this problem also.

I have found them to be completely corroded and never understood how some of the lights worked and some didn't.

Could be same issue with park wire (brown) corodded to the ground (white)

Yep got it all fixed up, thanks again guys, Turns out some mental-midget changed a power wire on the trailer to white abuot half way down, and as we know white trailer wires are grounded :banghead: so that explains my back feeding and lack of breaks.
