On our way back from the inlaws in Orlando this weekend, my wife kept telling me that she heard something that sounded like a train coming from under the hood(SHE THOUGHT). I stopped several times and checked everything(intercooler boots, wheel bearings, fan and belt , all pulleys) I found nothing.(I never heard the noise either but I drive the truck everyday) Any body have an explination. She said it was a chugga chugga chugga sound at around 65 MPH.

I thought maybe I have a U joint going bad in the back but haven't checked it yet.

All mods are in the sig. Thanks Stateboy776

Probably compresser surge/stall...its more noticable with your open air intake.

If you were running empty and it was while you weren't accelerating, my bet is what she heard was the motor noise coming from the intake, I will hear something like that to, when the stereo isn't cranked that is /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Not to change the subject but what type of lift and what size tires are you running? I have a similar truck and I am in the market for a lift and different size tires. I really like the look of yours.

Mabye a leaky exhaust up pipe gasket? Mine is making a similar noise at cruise.. almost a droning sound though. I checked and found soot around the passenger side up pipe where it goes into the turbo.

Also check the exhaust manifolds. The rear cylinder bolts tend to come loose. I've had to retorque mine a few times.

I have the factory 4 inch blocks in the rear and a leveling kit on the front, running 285's. Honestly, for using the truck to pull I wouldn't want it any higher.
