Yesterday shile driving home from work from a stoplight my truck shifted from 1-2 and seemed like it hit neutral for a few seconds then slammed into 2nd gear. Drove home another 5-10 miles and it seemed to shift fine. Until I got to a redlight. It didn't want to shift out of either first or second gear. If I go from Drive to neutral, then back to drive it will sometimes shift into a higher gear. I checked trann fluid and it's ok.

Truck is a 2000 F250 with 115,500 miles on a 7.3. Have had an edge evolution for the past 25,000 miles, but usually only run the chip on the tow mode. I do alot of highway driving, 60miles a day 6 days a week to work.

Any ideas what the problem is? No check engine light, so I doubt it is an electrical problem. It has been raining here for the past 3-5 days.

Thanks,

Jason

Just went out and tried to re-program my truck back to stock and now I am receiving an error 14 code. Called Edge and they are sending me somehting to re-set my pcm back to stock and another programmer. The tech at edge said it's possible this is what was causing my truck to not want to shift gears....any thoughts?

Hard to say. After you get your programming figured out, you should know more. I know for mine, it was a combination of a bad pedal assembly and a bad outside shifter solenoid. But before I got that figured out, I went and spent $4,000 for a Suncoast setup. Of course I didn't tell the wifer about the error and I'm real happy with the upgraded tranny and TC, but the reality is that I probably could have lasted alot longer before I really needed a new tranny. Hope that's the case with you too.

Ok, got the programming all fixed and truck started right up. HOWEVER it still isn't shifting correctly. Feels like the tranny is stuck in first gear, and wont shift into second like it should. I can "make" it shift by feathing the gas pedal several times and it will slip into a higher gear. Once in the higher gear, truck drives like it should, no issues w/ downshifting or with the TC locking/unlocking.

Any ideas as to where to start? I'm mechanically inclined, however I'm def, not a tranny guy.

Thanks,

Jason

And please no replies telling me to go buy a suncoast or any other expensive tranny. I'd love to, however just got married, bought a house, etc....very very strapped for cash.
