Tried a search, but no luck. I have a very minor transmission fluid leak somewhere around the mating surface of the pan to the tranny. I need to tighten the bolts, but need the torque specs if anyone has them handy.

Thanks, Jim

Hold a 3/8 drive ratchet right around the head and tighten till really snug. Should give 16 to 19 lbs. Should be fine for a cover.

15 Nm (11 lb-ft). This is what my manual says.

Even less. OK, pretty snug. 10-14 lbs. Kinda snug=8-11 barely snug.............nevermind.

Andy,, does that mean just one grunt tight instead of two grunts??

'Bout right. I've never used a torque wrench on a cover, haven't had one I put on leak since I was ten. Crushed a gasket. I have built and ran an old six banger with no torque wrench.

Thanks guys,

I appreciate the help. I think I'll compromise and go with the one and a half grunt method /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
