Normally in this cold weather on my way to work the tranny temp gauge never registers (stays under 100 degrees). Today, -15 degrees outside, my temp gauge started climbing and reached 120 degrees on the road into work, then a 1/4 mile later was at 140 degrees and kept climbing while in the parking lot. This was all within about 16-18 miles and not pulling a load.
When reversing into the parking stole, it seemed as if it almost wanted to stall right away in reverse but didn't.
Any suggestions what this is? Is it normal with more stress on the drivetrain in the colder temps? ATF flush possibly?
Thanks for any suggestions
