I just got an '03 6.0 and I am just wondering if there are any tranny mods for these yet? Do they have anything at all. I am not going to go crazy with power, just an exhaust, intake and programmer but I don't want to hurt the trans. Thanks in advance.

Depending on how far you want to go. I would have to say(as many others on this site) The way to go is SCT. The benefits of the SCT is it is never too much or too little. You can go from a stock program to adding over 150 rwhp from just the programmer depending on the dealer/tuner of the software. I bought mine fomr John Wood and can't be happier. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I am not worried about which programmer to buy right now. I am just wondering about upgrading the trans if needed. I am not going to get crazy with power, at most 100 hp on a programmer sometimes. Usually I will be on the 80 hp setting. I know that most programmers up the pressure and that stuff but i am looking for something mechanical. Like a valve body or shift kit. thanks again

Check out ATS or SunCoast. They both offer the parts you mention in kits from just some small mods (which might be all you need), to real heavy duty kits (probably more than you need). They also offer rebuilt trannies with their kits in them that you swap out your tranny for (well, at least SunCoast does, that's where I got mine). I also have heard of John Wood, but do not know what he has, but I hear he is quite good.

So, there are definitely lots of upgrades out there.

the banks tranny thingy works great. i had it on my 991/2 and removed it when i traded for the 04. its on my cousins camper with the v-10 and it inproved the shifting 1000%! he loves it. one nice thing is that if the banks thing screws up, you have an easy way to return to the stock comtroller.

No what I meant by the SCT is , It allows you to do more than just raise line pressure. You can completely comtrol shift points, line pressure, and more. By having the proper tranny programming done it will help extend the life of your tranny.

As people are telling to buy a new trans you aren't going to need to if your only gonna be running 80 horsepower. Hell my 4r100 has had 80 horse added to it for 30K miles and been ran hard and its bone stock.
