If it's like my old tranny, the T/C is on the way out. Ran into the same problem with the T/C lockup and higher HP settings.

My truck does the same in the 80 Econo. Only with OD. Im gonna have to send my chip in and get it reprogramed because my newly built tranny doesn't like it and tends to built up some heat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif

You should probably forget running that setting anywhere but the track (read foot on the floor race only setting). A valve body will help a bit, but it will not cure it. I went the new TC route, and it does nothing but speed up death of the trans. The real solution is a BTS trans.
