I've had a trans gauge in my ZF6 fir quite a while now. got the adapter plug from dieselsite. that thing hasn't moved since the day i put it in.

i know the manual trans just gets up to temp and thats it, but i mean, shouldn't it at least get up to 100* at some point after driving all day???

Not my area of expertise, but I would guess not.

Your ZF6 has a tranny cooler. So it's not going to get very hot, even when climbing out of Death Valley in the summertime. But I'd be surprised if you ever saw over 100º when the outside temp is below freezing. You don't have a torque converter slipping to create heat. So what is there to make heat?

IMHO, a tranny temp gauge on a ZF6 is a waste of a good gauge. :)

Transmissions don't seem to get too warm in the winter. Just yesterday I drove to Reno,Nv. (4 hour drive, manual trans, outside temp 3 - 20 deg). Trans temp did not budge. Engine oil temp did not get to 170 deg.
