Does anyone have a trans temp gauge on a six speed manual?

If so where did you stick the probe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

or you can drill and tap your plug.

I put the gauges on today, and I am embarrased to say but here goes, when tapping the pyro i broke the tap. Fortunately for me the tip of the tap stayed in the new hole I just popped into the manifold and I was able to back it out with a pair of needlenose pliers. After that experience I am a little afraid to drill and tap anything on the rig. But as far as the adapter for the drain plug, that is something I am definately going to look into.
Thanks for the Link./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Red,

You are the man, as soon as I get done with this reply I am ordering it. I was worried about putting the probe on the bottom side cause this truck gets worked hard on jobsites and if I stuck the probe in the bottom it would last all of about a day before it got raked off.

Thanks for the link,

Not yet -- but I'm thinking about it since I recently put "DieselSite Bob's"
Baldwin tranny filter kit on my 6-speeder... There are two small ports
(1/8" NPT?) on the filter head for an optional pressure gauge and temp
probe. I did put the pressure gauge on it and am thinking about the temp
probe. Alternatively, one could plumb in a Tee with a probe at the tranny
to get the temp of the ATF as it comes out for the filter and cooler. Or
plumb the Tee with probe at filter head input port.

ovruigo,

I used the dieselsite adapter and put where the fill plug is, not the drain plug. I know it's not in the fluid, but I remember when the Mag-Hytec covers came out, there was debate about differences in temp if the sender is immersed in oil or not. Someone tested it and there wasn't a significant difference.
