Over the weekend the "check gauges" light come on and my tranny temp gauge was pegged, I had only driven 5 blocks so I don't believe that it is a tranny overheat situation. I watched it today and when it got to the normal operatating range it jumped to the top of the scale. How would I check the sending unit before taking it to the dealer and spending a thousand dollars or more for them to rip apart the tranny to tell me a sending unit is bad?
