Well I love my new F450 but I just can't stand stopping every 300 miles. I'm looking at a replacement tank. The transferflow and the titan are close in price. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions.

The clearance pictures for the transferflow did appear to hang down a good way from the frame, but then again I didn't see any clearance pictures for the titan.

Anyone have opinions to share? Ford should have put this truck out with at least a 45 gallon tank. What were they thinking.

This is not a direct answer to your question, but I have been very happy with the 62gal tank from Aerotanks. AeroTanks-we specialize in auxiliary fuel tanks. It is all steel and has no problems filling fast. Never had it back up. I ordered mine with a steel skid plate.

I have the titan 62 gal tank.....I looked at transferflow but its 200# empty vs titan which is like 50# empty.....

My only complaint is that when its close to full you need to stop pumping and let it settle for 5-10 sec then fill it...it does burp when close to being full.....

it was also a little cheaper than transferflow...

Ive owned 2 prior trucks with transferflow aux tanks but this is my first main replacement tank...

it also hangs down maybe 2" more than the stock one did...

I have the Transferflow replacement tank and it has worked perfectly. Like the previous post says, there are no problems filling it, even at truck stops.

For even more range, I also added the 40 gallon aft axle tank from Aerotank to give us a total of 100 gallons under the truck. Aerotank makes a direct bolt in for the 2008 that replaces the spare tire. Aerotank makes what seems to be a really nice tank, but I didn't like their transfer system. It consisted of a dial timer that looked like something you would find operating a heat light in a hotel bathroom. There was no way I was installing that in the cab. Instead, I used the Freedom fill transfer system from ATTA on the Aerotank. It is computer controlled and is all self contained. You don't have to turn on a timer or flip a switch or anything. You just fill the tanks and drive!
