Whenever we pull a trailer and we stop there is transmission fluid on the ground.

1999 Ford Dually - Not sure on engine. (Husband's truck)

You don't have enough trans cooling. That was a problem on the 1999 and most 2000 model year trucks. When it gets too hot the torque converter seal weakens and out comes the fluid.

The solution is a new rediator with a trans cooler in it, plus I'd add a trans cooler from a 2003 or newer 6.0L truck.
