Hey guys,

I have an early 99 f250 7.3L auto, when it shifts from 1st to 2nd, it shifts really hard, like it slams into gear, then the rest of the gears are fine until OD kicks in, when that happens the engine revs up for a second or so and then OD engages. Anybody have any ideas? The truck only has 70000 miles on it, I'm hoping it's not the tranny going out.

You need to get the codes read. It most likely has one or more codes stored that will lead to the problem. The places that read codes free won't be able to read Ford transmission codes.

I have the exact same problem, early 99' f250, 7.3 shifts hard 1st-2nd,
I was wondering the same thing my truck has about the same mileage aswell
