I have notice when I am WOT going through the gears that when it shifts to second it doesn't stay there very long then shifts to 3rd an bogs down because the rpm and speed is off due to the early shift. Anyone else had this issue?
Once in a while it while pull all the way through second but most of the time it doesn't.

Shift points are controlled by the PCM . Almost invariably, weird shift points are secondary to an engine power issue. How's your boost? Fuel economy?

running huge tires with stock gears will also make it shift weird.

Is the truck tuned?

Ahh ok. That 80hp Eco tune is designed to shift really early to attempt to get better mpg.

So if you want the shifting changed get it flashed with a different tune. Or buy a ts 6 pos chip from cncfab for 250 bucks with php tunes.

Jody can make it shift whenever you want it to. One of the great things with the tow tunes is the delayed shifts and increased hold when decelerating.

Do you have a single PCM burn or an F5 or F6?

The whole point of the quick shifts in the 80 Eco tune was better mpg.

I'm not sure what dp tuner charges for a pcm flash. But the ts chip from cncfab comes with 6 tunes of your choice from their library. And they are php tunes.

So if the cost us anywhere close to that I would get 6 tunes instead of one

Sounds like a 60 dd or 60 tow is what you want then

Have you had the trucks PCM reprogrammed for the larger tires ? Is your speedometer reading correctly ?
Your computer needs to have a accurate speed reading so it can then shift as designed or Jody has altered in this case. Being off by as little as 5 mph made a big difference on my truck.
