I changed the return lines yesterday, when i was done i bled the air off and started it rifht up well i realized i didnt put the o rings back on one so i had to pull it back off and install them. This time when i went to bleed amd start it, it took an act of god to get it started, when it fonally did i let it run for about 15 minutes but it kept wanting to die for the first few minutes of that. After i ran it a while it was fine. An hour later i qas headed to town and made it about 2 miles before i was losing speed and ot just shut off, waoted a few minutes amd drove ot home. WHAT IS MAKING IT DO THIS??? Thanks in advance-isaac

Welcome to the Diesel Stop

Did you replace all the components of the return system or just the lines?

I would go back and start over with the return system. When you installed the "O" rings did you use any kind of lubricant to install? You might have "rolled" one out of place. I use lots of petroleum jelly. Did you push the caps and seat them? Air can get in where fuel can't get out. Was the truck running fine before your return line service?

Okay. Yes i used lots of petroleum jelly, and they all are seated well. Yes it was running fine, the lines were OEM and looked like they didnt have much life left. I started it earlier, came right on, and its been running for about an hour with out a problem, is it possible there was just some air locked in somewhere?

Sounds like it. Good to hear it's running like it should. Take it out for a test spin.
