We picked up our new truck yesterday. We special ordered it cause we wanted rubber, vinyl and manual everything (but tranny). I took it straight to the tire shop and replaced the BFG's with some 235 80 r17 toyo m-55's.

Points I like about new truck!:
-on super cab seatbelts now attach to door not seat top. This will let you use seatcovers.
-turns sharper than my 02 with leaf springs
-with heavy suspension package, front end is not nose down like old ones.
-truck has tons of power and acceleration (4.30 gears)
-box has not changed at all, only tailgate. Canopy off my 02 fits!
-This dually rides better than my old SRW. Front end is a bit rougher than back but still rides like car empty.
-With me, wife and two 100LB dogs and full thank truck weighs 8700lbs, 13000GVW = much better payload
-very quiet, comparable to gas truck

Things that suck!:
-central cupholder/ ashtray in dash gone, only centre console now
-computer says 9mpg
-back seat has stupid shoulder belt in centre, gets in way of gun rack
-exhuast is very very hot during regen

Overall we love the truck and are very happy that we bought it. I would love to post some pictures that I took but I don't have or want one of those my page sites.

The one I drove had one, it's just down a lot lower now, below the "dash" level and closer to the floor. (Right next to the ashtray, which is offset to the left of center on that lower section of the dash.)

That was on a Lariat - is it missing on whatever trim level you got (I'm assuming XL or XLT, since you got the carpet delete)?

If you look past the console lid, just below the upfitter switches in this picture, that big square piece pulls out and has the cupholders:

I did not get that pull out panel on my Lariet. The only there is the ash tray. We have the 40/20/20 front seats and the cup holders are in the fold down center seat back. Can you say "Cup Thowers?"

Wow, how strange! The dealer where I test drove the Lariat with captain's chairs also had a lariat with 40/20/40 and I am 99% sure that's the one I pulled that panel out on to see they were cupholders. I wonder if they screwed up your config, or if somehow carpet delete = cupholder delete, or...? Maybe a KTP person will chime in here...

I did get that panel on our Lariat with the front bench seats. 4 cupholders for the two of us in the front row! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nope no cupholders in dash for me. We got the 40/20/40 so we only get the lousy armrest ones. I don't smoke but I used the old ash tray for my change. The new one is so small and low it's not much use. Cant imagine trying to ash into it.
Maybe mine is gone due to manual t-case?
I went to the photo page but can't find a link for posting. I thought computers were suposed to make life easier.

Ah! I bet that's it. Wouldn't the pull out cupholders in the new location foul with the transfer case lever?
