Well I left for work this morning at 7 am, had to get a couple hours in early, as I had to work a 16 hr shift on an ambulance today, so anyways tried to leave the first job @ about 1030 so I would have ample time to shower and shave at the base. Jump in the truck and turn the key.... Turns over but doesnt kick off. Try it a couple more times, same thing. Call roadside, tow truck is 2 1/2 hours away. There was no one to come pick me so I call my dispatch center and hey send a crew to come and get me as I was 25 miles from my base and they had a truck 7.5 miles away.. anyways Ford just Called and they dont know what is wrong with it they said they got it running but that they dont want to let it leave yet, as they dont trust that it will keep running. I don't either as it has done this 2 other times. The first two times it was a ipr plug they said. I am losing faith in this truck just wondering what everyone thinks. Thank you for your input in advance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Mine did the same thing including shutting down while driving with no warning. You then were faced with no power brakes or power steering. After some 20 days in the shop they replaced the high pressure oil pump and that took care of the no start situation but the unexpected shutdown was still present. After changing numerous electrical parts it has not shut down but I too do not trust this truck. I will be getting rid of it and getting an 06.

Hope this helps.

Not according to Ford and the dealer I took it too. They say the recall is only for the 04. I don't understand this thinking as my 05 has the exact same symptions they list for the recall. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the tech called me from home tonight and said that he had found some chaffing in multiple areas in the truck, he didnt have time to go into details but said he would like to keep the truck a litttle longer because the chaffing was not so severe that it had penetrated the actual wire itself yet. Also he said half way through the pinpoint test(s) it just started right up. He also said that as with last time this happened they may end up replacing the pcm again ????

I absolutely love this truck and dont want to have to start over again but im getting really sick of walking when the truck doesnt feel like running

If the chaffing hasn't penetrated the wires then there is no way that it could have any connection to your current problem. Although it might have led to a problem down the road.

CODE3F350 - I agree with SteveIn29 as far as the chaffing. The no start situation with my truck started out as a hard to start situation and gradually developed into a no start situation. I think the shut down and no start problems are two different problems.

They may have corrected these problems but it is back in the shop for a wierd vibration noise comming from the exhaust and to replace a snap ring in the transmission. As I stated earlier, I no longer trust this vehicle and will be trading for an 06.

I am going to go through BBB/Autoline as this will hopefully prevent this truck from being sold to someone else without disclosing all it's problems.

In spite of all this, I still think Ford builds the best heavy duty truck.

I just hope that Ford has worked through all these problems on the o6 trucks. I've got one ordered but sometimes think I should get my head examined for trading my 7.3L

Just my 2 cnts but I believe the 06's are basically the same , except for the new packages, anyways dealership played with it today could not figure out what is causing this. the tech was kinda scratching his head, told me the amish got cheap mules for sale. Then I told him to get back to work.

Oh one other thing I forgot, someone at the dealership mentioned that under minnesota State Law it qualifies for a lemon, told them to just fix the Darn thing, I love this truck, and I dont want to have to start over. But one more time not starting and I'll be tempted to leave in in neutral on a Big Hill J/K.
